Data Shanty

The Data Lab Shanty was an interactive art installation dedicated to collecting and analyzing data on a variety topics varying from silly to serious.

See answers to the deepest questions we could think to ask such as: What is the best/worst dessert ever? What is the optimal pizza topping distribution? Are farts funny? What is the most popular of the Seven Deadly Sins?

We experimented with ways of collecting data in ways that allowed visitors to intuitively see the results of previous collection. We didn’t want to tally data all day so we focused on ways for people to submit data such that it was visually meaningful.
